An important and often overlooked category of history is known as ephemera, physical items not meant to be saved or permanent, but that are saved and collected for various reasons, often sentimental. Often these items are the very things that fill in the gaps of a story or a history. THG has a collection of ephemera, also referred to as memorabilia, which includes personal scrapbooks, coffee mugs, plaques, and other phone-related items that may seem insignificant alone, but which combine to paint a picture of a thriving industry that touched and changed many lives.
